    All modules are assessed through individual coursework based assignment of about 3,500 words in the form of work based management report or case analysis where applicable.

    The dissertation (Independent Study) is based on a topic aligned to the chosen specialisation will consist of a word count of 12,000 words.


  • Entry Criteria :
  • Completed a recognised bachelor’s degree in any discipline plus a minimum of 2 years of work experience accepted by the Admissions Panel.

  • Completed professional qualifications which are recognised as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years of work experience accepted by the Admissions Panel.

  • Those without a bachelor’s degree but with diploma qualifications recognised by University of Derby with at least 8 years of work experience of which at least 2 years must be in the managerial capacity.

  • Those without any formal qualification but with at least 12 years of work experience out of which a minimum of 5 years in managerial capacity may apply for admission subject to the University of Derby’s Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process.

  • Applicants whose first language is not English will be expected to provide evidence of competence in spoken and written English, as well as evidence of appropriate reading and listening skills.

    Course Structure :The MSc (Finance) program consists of four core courses and four elective specialist courses:

  • Strategic Management and Business Policy
  • Research Papers 1 and 2*

    Term 2
  • Corporate Financial Management
  • Marketing Management

    Term 3
  • Treasury Management
  • Investment Management

    Term 4
  • International Finance
  • Strategic Financial Planning

    Each course is assessed by written assignments and an examination.



  • Entry Criteria :A recognised Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications.

    Senior executives or business leaders without the abovementioned qualification but with substantial senior management experience in business or related industries may be considered by the University on a case-by-case basis.


    Programme Duration :Each term is a 4 months period covering 2 courses of study.

    Each course is provided with 20 hours of seminars and workshops (5 consecutive sessions of 4 hours each) after office hours in the evening and / or over weekends / public holidays.


    Award :Already 22 successful intakes in Singapore. Graduates will be allowed to use the title MSc (NUI) with specialisation after their names.
